TUES 7 APRIL – TIMESPAN ‘THE WAY WE WERE’ TALK CANCELLED
Tony and Lizzie Gilks from Timespan present ‘The Way We Were’ – a lighthearted costumed presentation fondly looking back at life on the Home Front in war torn Britain and the aftermath of austerity. As well as telling you about this era, Tony and Lizzie will have lots of memorabilia to share. A fascinating afternoon’s talk not to be missed.
TUESDAY 5 MAY – CABARET BY BOBBY BARNES
Why not kick back and listen while Bobby Barnes takes you from the smooth sounds of Nat King Cole and Matt Munro to the swinging songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and others. A journey through some of the most memorable songs ever written.
TUESDAY 2 JUNE – BRITISH AIRWAYS & THEIR ROYALTY
Jim Davies, curator of the British Airways Museum, will present the connections that British Airways have had with the Royal Family, including HRH the Queen and Prince Philip. These connections started straight after WW2 when the thenPrincess Elizabeth reurned from Kenya as Queen.. Jim will show an extraordinary array of photos and film, and will bring some magnificent, and rarely seen, memorabilia. A fascinating afternoon’s talk not to be missed.
